Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Its been a few weeks since E3 and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate being announced to the world
during E3 Ubisoft did a great thing and took Assassin’s Creed Syndicate on tour world wide and gave people the opportunity to experience Assassin’s Creed Syndicate first hand and it wasn’t just some multiplayer beta but the chance to play as Jacob and roam part of London and take out a Gang Hideout.
So a big thanks you to Ubisoft for allowing me and others the opportunity to get out hands on the game and try it out.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
“The Industrial Revolution unleashed an incredible age of invention, transforming the lives of millions with technologies once thought impossible. During this time the gap between the working class and the rich widened dramatically making workers’ lives a little more than legalized slavery. Living poor and dying young, the working-class unite in protest as a new kind of family, gangs, who turn to a life in the underworld in their struggle to survive. A struggle, until watchful Assassins come to their side and reignite an age old conflict that will echo throughout modern history, from the underground up
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate tells the story of Jacob Frye, who with the help of his twin sister Evie, will help free the masses from oppression. Together they will rally and lead the underworld to break the corrupt stranglehold on London in a visceral adventure filled with action, intrigue, and brutal combat. Jacob is a charismatic brawler and will become the leader of the notorious street gang, The Rooks With the help of Evie; he will fight to give London back to the people. Jacob is a hand to hand combat expert. On his left hand is the Assassin gauntlet with a poison dart that can takedown enemies from a distance, as well as the new all new rope launcher which is instrumental to crossing London’s wide traffic ridden streets, or quickly getting to the top of the massive buildings. And of course, the Assassin’s trusty hidden blade. On his right hand is a pair of brass knuckles
. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will feature the return of multi kills, as Jacob lavishly takes down groups of opponents at once. Evie is a critical part of Syndicate’s story. While Jacob is more hot headed, brash and rebellious, Evie is a master of stealth. Players will be able to choose between playing as Jacob or Evie in the Open World but on the narrative path, some missions will require playing as either Jacob or Evie. We’re looking forward to sharing more about her in the coming months. ”
From the press release the story seems to be pretty good and in line with most Assassins creed games where you take on the role of a protagonist and help out your people to escape brutal regime which has empowered its self at the cost of others
in the case of Assassins creed syndicate we will be taking the roles of two protagonist instead of the one, thing also takes makes a big change from the assassins creed role as a female assassin will also be taking a major role in the game which has mostly been dominated by male leads.
Combat and controls
as expected as Assassins Creed comes closer to the modern era and far away from the humble origins of Altair and close range combat, we have entered the industrial era with the introduction of revolvers and other short and long range weapons, this has been slowly building up from Assassins Creed 3 where we saw the introduction of Muskets and Pistols.
This has changed Assassins creed combat in a large and pretty good way as it has moved away from the original combat system and introduced a faster paced combat system with improved AI allowing for a faster and more coordinated fight from enemy targets.
Enemy tracking has also been greatly improved and allows you to tract targets using the assassins creed sense after losing them or head them off at the destination, this is great change from the previous system where if you lose line of sight then it would almost end in failure.
Grappling hook adds a new element to the game as it allows quick and faster access to areas which normally would have been a pain and a half as you look around for a lose rock or brick to hold onto to get to that desired location, with the hook you can use it as a weapon or use it to quickly get yourself out of a tight spot.
Parkour was a great feature in Assassins creed Unity and it allowed that smooth movement in an urban environment where you are surrounded by tall structures and buildings, for me this was a great feature in Assassins creed as its shows the development of the characters and the way they have adapted to their environment
weapons wise, well what would an Assassin be without his hidden blade?
The trust Blade is still at your disposable along side some new toys for you to use against those unsuspecting templar’s and their cronies.
One such weapon is the Cane which doubles up as a sword, there are three parts to the came which can be utilised as a weapon.
First you have the Hook at the hilt of the Cane
Second you have the Hidden Sword which is stowed away in the cane
and last of all you have the cane itself which can be used as a weapon
From my first experience of Assassins Creed Syndicate at the Game launch preview in London, to be honest I was quiet pleased by it, Granted I was disappointed I wasn’t able to shoot kids in the game ;), overall the game shows promise and I look forward to playing it when it launched or at Eurogamers in September
