Overkill going Overboard with DLC?
Normally I don’t really bother with DLC as it has become a norm these days from game publishers and developers as it adds extra content to the games.
and some DLC do bring some fun into the games and can add hours of fun.
So what is this article about you must ask?
I am looking at Payday 2 which pretty much had a successful launch, granted the game did start with a lot of issues and problems which were resolved over time, still don’t get why they have filter option in Crime net as it seems purely cosmetic option which doesn’t really do anything to effect the crime searches.
straight to the point
Looking at the payday 2 DLC structure
PAYDAY 2: The Big Bank Heist -£4.99
PAYDAY 2: The Shadow Raid Heist -Free

+ more to come?
So total Value of £30.72
and with the rate of DLC release by overkill this number looks to increase?
for me this is the first time I have seen so much DLC for a single game to be released in such a short period of time and value over £30.
Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to see game addons and options to buy DLC individually as one chooses.
but what really grinds my gears is that Overkill seem to be shafting its core players with DLC after DLC to the point the amount they spend on the DLC, they can go out and buy a brand new game from the store for, or even two depending on the title.
It would be nice if Overkill took the initiative and provided a season pass like most publishers which rewards their players overtime by releasing DLC which are already covered by the pass, and not have to spend a fortune overtime.
and before its pointed out, Yes Overkill do allow users who do not have the Maps to play them on hosted servers on crime net and one does not need to purchase a map to play them, but this does not guarantee one finding the map at the level which they want to play.
