Everyone’s favorite 00 Agent will be returning to the silver screen this fall in Skyfall, the 23rd Bond film in the series, and gamers hoping for a video game follow-up are in for some good news.
Publisher Activision and developer Eurocom (the team that brought gamers other Bond games such as Nightfire and Goldeneye: Reloaded) are working diligently on 007 Legends, a game that will include not only events from Skyfall but five other Bond films as well.
In addition to the game’s campaign, players will also be able to play through “Mi6 Ops” missions that feature online leaderboards as well as four-player split-screen multiplayer.
David Oxford, the executive vice president of Activison Publishing, gave fans and gamers a little teaser on what to expect:
“To honor 50 years of the world’s top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet. Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game.”
007 Legends is set for a fall release and I wouldn’t be surprised if the exact date ended up coinciding along with Skyfall’s.
